Dr. Altschafl cares about students and is passionate about the subject matter. That being said, I didn't find her assessments and expectations to be as clear and straightforward compared to her colleague. She would present new scenarios, change minor details, and make exams trickier than necessary. She's friendly, but I didn't enjoy her section.

Dr. Beth is amazing. She is super sweet and helpful, and she is very clear with her lectures. Although the class is very dense, she makes it easy to digest with all of her engaging teaching techniques.

Dr. Altschafl is extremely caring and always willing to help. She really wants her students to understand the material as opposed to just memorizing and regurgitating facts. She understands that every student learns differently and works hard to meet every individual student's needs which is impressive given this class has hundreds of students.

This class is by far the hardest class I have EVER taken; however, it's SUPER beneficial, important, and the most valuable course I've taken. This class is EXTREMELY hard, you need to put in the time and study your butt off in order to do well in it. Professors are amazing! They truly care about students! P.S.-There jokes are super funny!

By far the best science teacher I have had here at Madison. She knows so much and you can tell that she genuinely cares about her students. The material is hard but she explains the topics really well plus the lectures are recorded. Amazing lecturer and very inspiring and engaging, just make sure you do not fall behind!

By far the best professor I have had in college thus far. There are so many things that I could say; however, the main point is that she is the most caring and intelligent individual ever. Just an overall great professor the way she really cares about her students' learning and understanding.

Really good at explaining complicated concepts. Very knowledgable about the information. Very communicative. Loved having her as a professor.

Dr. Beth is one of the funniest and most approachable professors I've had in college. She really wants you to get it. This class is HARD and she knows that and will try to encourage and help you however she can. I didn't do great in this class, but I don't think I've ever learned so much from a class before.

Dr. Beth was a really funny and interesting professor. She has a super approachable personality that makes it easy to talk to her if you're confused. She wants you to succeed in this class.

Dr. Altschafl is a fantastic professor! You can tell she's passionate about her job which makes the subject matter a lot more bearable. Lecture slides provide you all the info you need for exams, and all her lectures are video recorded for you to review. Would absolutely take this class again!

Beth is a fantastic professor and lecturer who completely breaks the stereotype of science professors being indifferent and unavailable. Physiology was the most interesting and useful class I've taken at UW thanks to her and Dr. Strang. Re-watch the lecture videos, clarify any confusing points, and you'll be completely fine for the exams.

Dr. Beth is wonderful. Awesome lecturer, and fascinating material, but tough material. Dr. Beth did a great job making it easy to understand. Be sure to read the book. And go to discussion, know the materials well, and you'll be fine. But remember, study like crazy!

Dr. Beth is a very interesting person to listen to in lecture. She is funny, brilliant, and loves to answer questions. She does a great job explaining the material, and is more than happy to clarify anything that she feels is confusing to her students in class or during office hours. I would recommend going to office hours as much as you can.

Beth is great! She is very helpful during office hours. Her test was very fair! Everything in her test was clearly talked about in class.

Beth has been my favorite professor at UW. She's very excited about physiology (just like all the other professors) but is even more clear about the relevant material. She repeats herself and takes time to explain everything on her slides. Shes also really funny and makes jokes about netflix n' chill (in a cute way). You'll LOVE Beth!

Dr. Beth was my favorite of the 3 that teach phys 335. She's hilarious and truly cares about her students. I always found myself the most interested when she was lecturing. Makes the content she covers clear to understand. Get ready to study your butt off though, this class is no walk in the park.

Great lecturer! Makes it fun for listen to.

Readings are long and lectures only touch the surface of the details she expects you to know. Dont expect quick or helpful responses to emails. Get ready to work hard

I have a pretty poor opinion of the other professors teaching this course, but Dr. Altshafl is an EXCELLENT lecturer. She is clear, direct, to the point and has a very logical progression. She wants you to understand, not just memorize, and knows how to help you do that. I wish she were teaching the WHOLE course. Seriously, fantastic.

Easily one of the best professors at UW. She lectures for cardiovascular and GI, and is extremely engaging in lectures. She's genuinely interested in the well-being of her students, and will go out of her way to talk to you and help you out. Fantastic professor, but be prepared to work for your grade.

The best science professor UW has to offer: smart, funny, clear, and an overall incredible human being. Phys335 has a lot of material (duh!), but if you keep up lectures: it is rather impossible to get below a AB. (Strang, Lokuta, Beth). She is amazing: both during office hours and lecture! Honestly, I wish she taught every organ system.

Great professor! Very funny and easy on the eyes. Would highly recommend both this course and this professor to others.

Beth is the BEST professor i have ever had in my entire time at UW Madison. She is there to honestly help you learn and is so excited about every lecture she gives. Anything I ever needed help with she was there right away. I had to reschedule an exam and she was so helpful and encouraging and even wished me safe travels and a good time on the trip

Most incredible professor I have EVER had! Beyond helpful with everything and knew her stuff like no other. Would go out of her way to help any student. This was an insanely challenging class but I wish she taught all my classes. I miss you Beth!!

Dr. Beth is a wonderful professor and person. She lectures very fast, so it can be difficult to get everything down. Podcasts are helpful to go back and listen to parts you may have missed. She loves to teach and loves the material she is teaching. I highly recommend her.

Phenomenal professor. There is a lot of material to cover in an absurdly short amount of time, but she manages to explain them well. Her office hours are extremely helpful and she is really easy to talk to. She seems more like a teacher at heart, which can't be said for a lot of college professors

Very Good! Her mind is in teaching, not is research. Goes through a lot of material, fast, but understandable in for upper-level class. She's got a great attitude and I went to many of her office hours. Unlike the post below that said her happiness isn't legit, I 100% disagree. Why would we NOT want happy professors excited about physiology..

Overall a good professor. Her slides were consistent with the notes and she explained things clearly but went FAST. Listening to the podcasts later helped, and she was very helpful in office hours. Bubbly and enjoys talking about her kids. Her exam was very tricky; there were lots of little details that could easily be missed.

Beth is a good lecturer. She probably wasn't the best Physio professor (I had her with Strang and Lokuta) but she's still good. She's a sweet and pretty straightforward lecturer - just not very engaging.

Beth lectured very quickly, but I listened to her lectures again on Learn@UW. She is extremely nice and approachable, and she always explained things clearly. I highly recommend going to her office hours.

Beth is a good professor. She presented the information clearly and quickly and gave time for questions at frequent intervals. Nothing particularly outstanding or dreadful about her. The class needed to be taught quickly and clearly, and she did that.

Goes VERY fast. Interesting class, but very difficult tests.

Great professor and very helpful! Also had interesting/funny lectures. Kudos for being able to cover all that mtrl in her units! Likewise, I thought the tests were reasonable; structured well to separate the A's Very helpful in office hours. and AWESOME!: 1st class where I/we were rewarded for attending before thanksgiving!

Great teacher. She clearly cares about the material and everyone's success in the class. She likes to tell jokes and is very enthusiastic. Exams are not bad, book is generally a lot more in depth than what she talks about in lecture. Don't depend on the podcast (she and technology don't mix), go to class.

Dr. Beth was a good lecturer and was very enthusiastic about the material and course as a whole (as are the other profs). Exams were mostly rote recall rather than application of the fundamental concepts (except for Dr. Lokuta's). She's pretty easy to look at and has a wonderful sense of humor to boot.

Dr. Beth is amazing! Very passionate about physiology. It's hard not to be excited about the material. She's also very "easy on the eyes" so that made going to lecture all that more enjoyable.

Such a cute professor. Goes a little fast during lecture, but she really wants students to succeed.

she is extremely helpful, but sometimes boring during lecture. there are a lot of resources, and if you use them along with studying, you will do well in the course.

She taught lab this semester and was really helpful. She knows a lot about physiology and was extremely enthusiastic about everything. She is very willing to help you do well.
