He is amazing!!! He truly cares about students and their wellbeing and will go above and beyond to help you out. He is so understanding and empathetic and his class is interesting and engaging TAKE HIS CLASS
Dr . Hernandez is extremely nice and shows genuine care for all of his students. He's very passionate about education, and that shows through his lectures where he incorporates many stories into. Openly engages with tough topics and breaks them down if any questions. Lots of readings though typically.
Professor Hernandez is a very professional yet caring person and really puts his students first. Attendance is taken at all lectures and discussions but they are interesting topics and not super packed lectures. EDPOL 210 was super manageable and homework was mostly readings or videos.
He is a very sweet professor who clearly cares about every one of his students. The course itself was structured a bit strangely with some weeks being extremely writing heavy. However, I think this is because it was summer and a course he does not typically teach. Even with this I would still recommend taking a class of his.
Professor Hernandez is by far one of the best professors I have had at UW Madison. He truly cares deeply about each and every one of his students, and makes it his job to make sure we are actually learning. Overall, this class was also really interesting and I would recommend it to anyone that wants to learn more about the education system.
Dr. Hernandez is probably the best prof I've had at UW! He is caring and well respected. His knowledge is immense, but more than anything he goes out of his way to help students. The content is very interesting. Other professors at UW could take a lesson from Dr. Hernandez on how to treat students.
Hernandez is a phenomenal professor. He's so caring, and the information we learn in class is genuinely useful. We have a good amount of writing in the class, but he gives us plenty of time to do it, and it's not too hefty per assignment. The "final" is just a final project where we have freedom to discuss a social justice issue of choice.
His passion for the coursework shines through his instructions and his positive attitude. He is extremely understanding of the demanding coursework we are assigned at the university, and is very forgiving with scheduling issues and accidents. He often sends out emails reminding us to keep our mental health strong, which is the cutest thing ever.
He's a very nice guy and was really helpful when I asked questions, but it was just frustrating hearing the same speech at the beginning of every lecture and being told to "be in conversation" every single day. However, the subject matter is not really my thing so I feel someone interested in Education would probably enjoy professor Hernandez.
Such a kind professor and genuinely cares about his students. For Ed Pol 210, we had a few readings assigned each week that you didn't necessarily have to read and just had to complete 5 short discussion posts based off of them for the semester. If you have him as your TA he is a much easier grader than the TAs. Essays are very manageable.
