Very cool and interesting course, and the professor is super sweet and clearly loves what she does while also being well rounded in the topic. The readings range from short paragraphs to longer stories that are enjoyable to read. She is old fashioned in which she has assignments and exams on paper, I found it very refreshing though! I recommend!

Anne is a very caring and kind professor, but overall grades are hard. The exams changed from 20-minute quick quizzes to taking over 50 minutes worth triple the points. She cares more about grammar than anything else. Keeping up with all of the vocabulary necessary for the quizzes can be difficult.

I had the pleasure of taking her class Spring 2024. It was a lit class for non-french speakers, and although I had no experience in reading translated French literature, she made me interested in them! She's a little old-fashioned (many homework assignments written on paper), but honestly I liked it. Would take a class with her in the future!

Was originally a bit apprehensive about taking phonetics, but Professor Theobald made it so much fun! She was very patient explaining the different sounds of the French language and teaching us the phonetic alphabet. Made a point not to put questions on the exam meant to trick us and gives really good feedback. Wish I could take this class again!

Anne is great. She's engaging, doesn't assign too much work, and wants you to succeed. Easy A if you put in the work. As a stem student, it was nice to have a class like that as part of my workload.

(FR 311) Madame Theobald is an encouraging and interactive lecturer. She wants to make sure you understand. She is kind in person but can be very stern over email, especially when requesting accomodations. I would take her again as she is easy to understand and aids you in english if the class truly is not understanding.

Anne Theobald has to be the nicest professor at this school. She made it a point to encourage her students no matter their confidence level in their French. She was very caring and made it a point to make every student feel comfortable in class.
