Dr. Nimunkar was a great professor. He makes it very clear what you have to do in order to do well in the class. Lecture attendance isn't mandatory but I recommend going bc he gets thru a lot of the hw in class. He really wants everyone to succeed and will help you understand any topic you may have trouble with. Exams are hard but not unreasonable.
Amit is my favorite professor that I've had. He cares deeply about all of his students and will know your name by the second week of class in a class of >100 students. He's also willing to help you understand any class content or project work- including helping you grasp concepts and learn, rather than just doing it for you. Great person.
Amit is probably my favorite professor. He'll know your name by the second week of class in a class of >100 people. He's extremely helpful for both help with classwork (and helping someone grasp content instead of just doing it for them) and with projects.
Professor Nimunkar is very accessible and excited help other students and he helped make sure we understood all the aspects of the circuitry needed for our project and that we were on track during the Electronics part of the course.
Nimunkar truly cares about his students and is passionate about bioinstrumentation! I didn't think I'd enjoy this class but the hands-on labs and medical device applications really helped me gain interest in the material. There are a LOT of small assignments though (two homeworks/week, pre-labs, post labs) but they are all very straightforward.
Dr. Nimunkar is an extremely kind and respected professor. He is very intelligent and well spoken when it comes to explaining concepts. He has helped my team tremendously and never led us in a stray direction.
I did an independent study with Professor Nimunkar and I loved it! He is incredibly friendly and really great at explaining concepts. I did one project a week with him and learned quite a bit of content from BME 463 by reading the textbook and working through practice problems.
This class was a mess in fall 2020. We only had three homework sets when we should have had one weekly, the prelab quizzes were unpredictable, and the lectures always went long. It took him over a 1.5 months to grade our first exam and many of our labs were not graded until the last few weeks. It's an easy class, just a frustrating one at times.
Amit is more than a prof, he can be your friend. I once asked him to regrade my hw. he deducted more points than it was but wrote 300+ words with references proving I was wrong. RESPECT
He is a very knowledgeable instructor who seems to care immensely about his students. His kindness and jokes make me appreciate the class, however I think the material could be presented in a better format than when I took it.
Dr. N is a very nice guy, I really like him personally. It is extremely evident that he does not have the time to teach BME 301. He does not put the time that is needed for running the course because he had too much else that he needs to do. 310 needs to be redone.
Extremely kind, but might not be a good fit for individuals who struggle with circuitry. There were few practice problems in the course I took, which made it difficult to know what to study for exams. Regardless, the exams were pretty easy if you reviewed lecture material. Would recommend, and would go to Amit after lecture to ask questions.
For his first semester teaching this course, Amit was amazing. He consistently asked for and applied feedback. I really struggled with the course content, but he was always around to answer questions and offer a different explanation. It's so obvious that he really cares about his students and genuinely wants us to learn.
Dr. Nimunkar is such a nice guy it's hard not to like him. However, there are a lot of unnecessary hoops to jump through to get a decent grade in his class. Make sure to keep your online notebook up to date for the notebook checks. As long as you work hard with your group in and outside of class you should be good.
It was his first semester teaching this class and he did a fine job. He constantly inquired to groups of students regarding the structure of the course, and was open to constructive criticism. All around great guy to be around and enthusiastic about teaching.
Hurt our Design team far more than he helped. Considered asking for a different adviser and would recommend you do the same. So clueless about what design engineers should be doing that he actually just wasted our time . He needs far more experience or far less on his plate to even begin being effective as an adviser.
Amit is a nice guy, but I couldn't help but feel like I got downgraded for things that shouldn't have gotten downgraded. Case in point: I kicked butt on my group's final report and continued to step up in my group as the semester went on, and I somehow only got a "B" in the class.
Amit is extremely enthusiastic and always excited to teach. Some of the course guidelines are ambiguous, but nothing is overly unreasonable. There are resources available to help with this, such as piazza and the handbook. This is engineering, you can't expect things to be handed to you on a silver platter.
BME 201 is required. In this course u may learn about different programs and tools used in BME. However, the class is unorganized and grading rubrics may be given just hours b4 a deadline. When taking this course ASK many questions about what is required 4 the design project, throughout the semester, b persistent about rubric posts or go in blind
If you can get him for 160, do it. Most of the other teachers haven't been around as long and the course is very open ended. He pushes you along in the right direction the whole time. He may seem nagging, but you will have a fun time getting an A with Amit.
Class is very fun and he helps you out and is very interested in your ideas. Keeps you involved. He is great and the class is fun!
he's truly the best prof that i 've seen in my life
Amit is the best biomedical engineering professor. He expects everyone to work hard, but he is very interested in student progress.
Best TA ever! Really teaches the material. Always knowledgeable and helpful. you da man amit!
Amit is the best TA that I have ever had. He is very funny but very smart. He is always willing to help and would bend over backwards for his students. Usually you read if u want to pass pray for a good TA. I say pray for Amit :) he is the****
First, Amit is a TA, not a professor. He's really playful and fun in discussion though. I enjoyed him!
