Professor Alberta M. Gloria. You are a shame of UW-Madison, and being sarcastically teaching the course of CP 225 and being teaching the content of the disability-related content. What you did for McBurney Students were humiliating and were actually unfair. So, you have no right to advocate for McBurney or disability-related students, how dare you!

IDK about this professor but this class... girl. What was supposed to be an easy A ended up being a sisyphus-like battle to actually get full points. Even if you have a good discussion group (I pray for those who did not), your assigned TA is who really matters! Mine was a total hardass and we only got full points for a discussion section ONCE!

This class was a lot of reading. Almost your entire grade is based on groupwork, so it is very important that you get a group that is willing to talk. Dr. Gloria is very nit-picky about assignments and will take whole points off for minor organizational issues. Overall, the work wasn't too hard, just be detailed.

Super easy class IF you have a good discussion group. My TA grader, Greyson, was super nice but I have heard mixed reviews about TAs. There's a weekly zoom discussion. If you have members who don't participate, I could see this class being terrible. Follow the notes template and be mildly detailed and you will do fine. I thought class was easy A.

BEWARE do NOT take this class if you hate group projects. Basically your entire grade is based off of if you have a group that is willing to work or not. You have weekly 50 minute zooms that have a notes template you have to follow and the TA's are SO strict on grading. Class is easy but dependent on a good group.

Solid class, very easy and doesn't take up much of your time. Definitely recommend if you need an ethnic studies credit. Having a good group is essential though, I could see this class being brutal if you are in a bad DS group.

You're not just graded on your own work, so if you get stuck with even one bad group member, good luck. Discussions are highly scrutinized. Assignments are incredibly boring and repetitive as well. If you just want to fulfill your ethnic studies requirement, I'd recommend literally anything else. This class will drain the life out of you otherwise.

The best ethnic studies class at UW. There, I said it. I recommend this class to everyone I talk to. The prof doesn't really matter because the class is basically all small group discussions. Super easy and a great way to reflect on yourself, your communities, and your identities! A breath of fresh air from tougher classes each week.

Prof. Gloria is awesome and an amazing lecturer. Most of the work is in the lab section, which is very hands-on but overall rewarding. Papers and assignments aren't difficult, can take a little time but really help you understand the material. Class changes your perspectives on communication, can't recommend enough.

Dr. G's lectures were consistently engaging and easy to take notes on. Exams were easy if you studied the lectures. The lab component of the class is definitely draining and a lot of work, but the work definitely helps you hone your interviewing skills in a way I didn't expect. Lots of work, but worth it overall.

Boring lecture, easy class. Never opened the book once. Discussion sections (or "lab" as they call it) are not difficult, but very involved as far as group work goes, so that will depend on how good your TA is. Just take halfway decent notes and study them a little. There is extra credit and the assignments are easy.

Not quite as easy as everyone said. Everything was fine except for her exams. They were way too hard with the most ambiguous questions/answers I've ever seen on an exam. The labs are actually helpful. There are two audiotapes (taped interviews) that were interesting. You have to a journal every week that is boring and not helpful at all.

Super easy. Very relative to the real world in communication. Class worth 100 pts but get 10 pts of extra credit. Easy Easy Easy.

Class was probably one of the easiest classes I've taken. I didn't open either textbooks at all and still got an A. Just go to lecture and study the notes and you'll do just fine. Lots of opportunity for extra credit too so it's almost impossible to get a bad grade. Dr. Gloria presents the info in an easy to understand way. Take the class.

She's a straight forward professor- the tests are only worth 10-25 points and there is at least 10 extra credit points avaliable during the entire year, so its near impossible to score anything less than an AB in the course. The main textbook is useless for the texts since they primarly focus on lecture notes.

I'm not sure why people kept getting confused in lectures. Nearly everything she said was common sense, just put into different words. She's a nice lady, and patient with people who came late to the 7:45am lecture. She has a very good energy level for such an early lecture.
