One of the worst I've ever had! He teaches nothing. You watch a lot of videos and read a lot of readings and that's it. A group project with exams and quizzes. Bock definitely doesn't care about this class and his students. He only wants to flex his experiences while adding no value to our learning and career journey. Such a waste of my tuition.
First, this class is a free A, exam questions are REUSED every year, and there are quizlets with the answers. Second, everything that was said in the 2 messages below is true. However, Bock has legit entrepreneurship experience-- and quite a bit. But Bock seems to have a lot more going on outside of teaching, and this to me is more of a side gig
From the first lecture, it was clear Bock was not interested in getting to know his students & he solely holds this position to boast about his successes. Took this class for the entrepreneurship cert, would not take a class from Bock again unless he decides to show a shred of interest in anyone other than himself.enroll w ppl for the group project
I love the class and hate the professor. Never in my life have I had a professor as egotistical and incosiderate as Dr. Bock. He is more interested in power tripping than actually teaching. If I was the department head, Dr. Bock would never teach another class a day in his life. As a professor, you want to help his students. Bock is the opposite.
The class was easy A, exams were not too hard. Bock was, however, pretty rude to students, didn't really learn anything for the class...
Dr. Bock is really nice and approachable. As long as you do the required assignments on-time and actually put effort into your t-shirt project, you will do well. Exams were not bad. This class covered a lot of different topics that are very useful for developing an entrepreneurial mindset. If you have the chance to take this with him, do it!
very strict, no-nonsense. Class only meets once a week, weekly readings and quizzes, one big project. most of the work is busy work. most of the exam questions are from the weekly quizzes so WRITE THEM DOWN. grade dropped 8% for not buying reading material on time, not very flexible with deadlines
Bock is meh. Class only meets once a week with short readings and videos to watch in addition. Weekly quizzes are extremely easy, exams are very fair and pretty much all of the weekly quizzes put together verbatim. T-shirt project is other main component which is just busy work basically. Easy A/AB for entrep. cert.
I am mixed about this class. Bock is a great lecturer, very knowledgable, but he's not a person I would visit for office hours. He's the kind of teacher whose feedback is "you should have read more" or "that's more of a you problem." There are at least 4 tophat questions each lecture which count for accuracy and partic. Good teacher, bad for help.
Relatively easy class, but get ready to read the textbook for his exams. He covers most of the material in lecture. However, if you don't want to wake up that early, you can easily read the chapters that are covered in the textbook and easily pass.
Adam is very knowledgeable about the entrepreneurial world, and his past experiences coupled with his expectations that all your work has strong data & evidence to prove it, make papers & case studies one of the harder parts of the class. Nonetheless, his tough grading makes you learn a lot about how to write and significantly back up your claims.
