The best professor out of the 345 "trio." She talks fast, but is kind and caring. Explains the concepts very clearly and very willing to answer questions. Exams for 345 are fair but obviously not going to be "easy." I would for sure take a class with her again and would pick her over the other 345 professors.Rate My Professors ↗
Ellison was the kind of professor who simply read off of the slides she was given in order to teach you and didn't even put in the effort to explain the chemistry behind reactions. She taught fast and expected you to keep up. If someone raised their hand during class she often didn't even look up and allow them to ask a question.Rate My Professors ↗
Very smart and very nice. I think she's the best lecturer out of the trio (her, Brian, and Ryan) but all of them are great choices as the trio really instills WHY reactions occur rather than memorization. She is also very approachable and will meet with students outside of her scheduled office hours. Bonus: she helps run 344 so there's crossover.Rate My Professors ↗
Take the Essleman/Ellison/Stowe trio so you are able to attend any of their or their TA's office hours; it will save your grade. They also keep you super updated what your curved grade is. 100% recommend Ellison specifically as she is very good at explaining the concepts of organic chemistry and never felt condescending when answering questionsRate My Professors ↗
Chem 343 is a really tough class for a lot of people and Professor Ellison does a great job making the material palatable. She is a really good lecturer, super kind, and very approachable. My biggest piece of advice is to take Chem 343 with one of the trio professors (Ellison, Esselman, and Stowe) and get Aubrey if you can, she's greatRate My Professors ↗
