Considering I am highly interested in South Asian economics and politics, I was impressed that Aseema managed to make me so bored and frustrated in this class. Her notes were scattered and she insisted on students teaching the readings rather than doing so herself. She also didn't stick to her syllabus, added three assignments during the semester.Rate My Professors ↗
Makes a really interesting subject dull. She sucks all the life out of social movements. Focuses exclusively on women's movements and movts in India. Doesn't provide a clear review of either theory or particular cases. Really tough to follow, mostly because lecture is so dry and uninspired. 2nd half of course was really reading intensive.Rate My Professors ↗
She might just be the worst professor I've ever had. She comes to lecture disorganized, insists on lecturing off the readings and contributes very little to discussion. If I wanted that, I would have taken a discussion led by a TA. Her class might be easy but it's not worth it for all the bs you have to deal with to get your A.Rate My Professors ↗
She's really knows her stuff and can seem uptight but she's pretty nice. Her lecture notes are not clear at all. Doesn't give good review of the readings but the class discussions and presentation do help a lot. There is lots of material but she's a pretty easy grader.Rate My Professors ↗
Awful professor. Very boring and hard to understand. She removes her overheads before you can write down everything. She focuses the whole class on India but not her exams. The exams are written and then graded very hard. Don't take her!Rate My Professors ↗
Most unorganized, difficult to interpret lecture I've had thus far. I recommend finding a good TA and skipping every lecture you hesitate to attend. Videos....pointless and the tests are not difficult if you read and go to section.Rate My Professors ↗
