I loved this professor and this class! He's tough but funny and cares about his students. Class has a lot of material, but it's interesting and the labs are fun! Exams are hard, but if you review all the lecture material you should do fine. He grades harshly at first, but you'll understand what he's looking for by the middle of the semester.
The worst professor on campus. Has a huge ego and refuses to accept help when he clearly needs it.
the GOAT
Arnoldo is hilarious and incredibly caring and understanding of the students. He does have very high expectations for grading, but is incredibly accessible outside of class for homework/lab help (or just to talk about life). My biggest complaint is he can be a bit disorganized on the account of him teaching several classes.
Arnoldo is an amazing person and professor. I am finishing up my 3rd class with him and it's clear he really cares about his students. He is always available for questions and will often work through things with you. His exams are hard but if you engage you'll succeed. Curves the class so that you pass if you tried at all.
Exams are 2-3 hours and grading criteria is strict. Lacks student-teacher transparency.
He's very approachable and caring and enjoys answering student questions, even when they seem bizarre or dumb. My major complaint is he writes exams that are way too long. He does take that into account and chooses exam times/locations that allow for students to work late, but midterms and finals take most people 2.5-3 hours.
Very personable and caring. Exams are very thorough, but fair. Lots of work from weekly lab assignments, but labs are usually fun, and many end with food you can take home (bread, poptarts, etc). Overall, more enjoyable than I expected. Lectures were engaging as were labs.
Arnoldo clearly cares about his students and tries to help them out with the grading, but his exams can be pretty specific, like an offhand mention in lecture can be a whole question in an exam. Labs usually are completed early and the reports are almost freebie points. No textbooks or readings which is nice, everything is lab or lecture based
Arnoldo is an amazing professor, he always makes lectures engaging and is very approachable for help.
