A low point for the usually excellent UW Madison Real Estate department. She was almost always 10-15 minutes late to her class. She was also the first one out of the room following lecture, something no other professor does. She is terribly unprepared for lecture, often taking multiple attempts to solve an example problem in front of class.Rate My Professors ↗
Andra took the course into a lot of topics unrelated to real estate finance and I was left at the end of the semester wondering why I had to take the course. She took a very free style approach and I'm not convinced she knew the material she was supposed to be teaching us. She is inexperienced compared to the other RE professors.Rate My Professors ↗
Ghent is very knowledgable and passionate. Go to her office hours and get to know her, she is very willing to help and is great at explaining things that you find unclear. Class gets a lot harder as semester goes on, but if you study the quizzes and understand the process of each question (thats the key) you'll be fine. Fairly generous curve.Rate My Professors ↗
Ghent does a good job teaching a fairly difficult class. Explains material very well and is very available outside of class to help. Super nice but has some weird pet peeves that you have to make sure to avoid. Probably the best option for 410.Rate My Professors ↗
Ghent was clearly a very smart prof and loves RE finance. She focuses on the theoretical to the point where you cant use a financial calculator on the midterms. Her tests are hard but she knows it and uses a big a curve to boost grades. I thought she was overall pretty kind and helpful. Weekly quiz. 2 midterms.
