I took AP Stats in high school and earned the full credit, so I regret taking STAT 371. It covered the same material from AP Stats, and my high school teacher did a much better job of explaining the content than a UW professor. I got an easy A in AP, but only managed to get a B for STAT 371, even after putting much effort and time into the course.Rate My Professors ↗

Extremely monotone professor. The only thing she does in lecture is read directly off of the notes documents and go through examples that are nothing like what is done in the homework and exams. I am a genuinely smart person and I don't think I had a moment of clarity in that class ever.Rate My Professors ↗

She is a disgrace to UW and the Math department. She does a terrible job in explaining, and only reads heavy notes and plug in numbers to complex formulas. I wanted to learn the concepts of stats, but all I learned was formula computations. Worst thing about her is her speech, she would not stop saying uhmm, which has caused me severe migraines.Rate My Professors ↗

She does not teach, she reads off the slides and notes. Fell asleep most of the time in her class and learned everything in the SLC, I do not recommend taking a class taught by her unless you're great at statsRate My Professors ↗

I would say I agree with some bad and some good comments. I think Amy is a very nice professor and cares about students, however I am not a fan of her teaching style. Even though she does examples in class, some steps in those examples are not well explained. Exams don't correlate to homework or notes, and homework is insanely time consuming.Rate My Professors ↗

I honestly do not understand all of these bad ratings. Go to class, follow her note sheets in word, and use them on all of the exams like you're suppose to. Professor Beyler goes over every single problem with you and shows you how to do them. Yes, the homework is super time consuming, but that is going to be the same across the board.Rate My Professors ↗
