Excelent professor who truly cares about her students and learning. She made the content interesting and taught an online asynchronous class correctly (as in didn't simply repackage a "tradition" class structure for an asynchronous class.) I took the four-week summer session version of HDFS 362. The pacing of this class caused it to be a bit overwhelming with the amount of reading that was expected to be completed before the exam. Take very detailed notes and you will do well on the exams. The readings can be dense and time-consuming so don't leave them till the last minute.Rate My Professors ↗
Professor Lockett was not very involved (No lectures, all assignments come from McGraw). However, I did enjoy the independence of the asynchronous course. The course content was very interesting, and although all the assignments were busywork, they were all easy.Rate My Professors ↗
Take this class!!!! Because of the completely online asynchronous nature of this class, there isn't much interaction with the professor. That being said, this class made me want to major in HDFS. The information was so interesting. I took it over the summer and the workload was very manageable, so I imagine it's even easier during the semester.Rate My Professors ↗
This class was online/async and the prof was not a big part of the class. They just tell you what to read and which assignments to do each week. Reading can take a super long time, focus on what information is most important.Rate My Professors ↗
I took this class online, and though it felt like a lot of busy work it was super manageable. You have weekly textbook readings, discussion posts, quizzes, and exams and three virtual observation reports over the course of the semester.
