All i will say is , if you are looking for a class you can get an A in , do not take this one. Horrible professor
This course was a disaster; the professor was unclear about the assignment, and even got the due time wrong. There is a final exam for this course, but until week 13, she had not decided on the format of it. The assignments were interesting, but the workload is too much. She doesn't allow for any emergencies. You will not get any extension.(EASY A)
Prof Edoro was consistently disorganized. She took over for our class when our original professor quit and taught us the ENG 178 material, but she just never picked up her feet and constantly miscommunicated about assignment requirements AND EVEN FORGOT ABOUT OUR FINAL EXAM. Woke up at 7:00am for nothing. Fun class project, careless teaching.
I adored this class. Ainehi is one of the most intelligent lecturers I have had, and I was always captivated by her lectures. Attendance was mandatory with 2 absences allowed. Grades are made up of weekly hw where the lowest score is dropped, one essay, an Instagram project and a final exam. Awesome class that challenges you to think critically!
Super smart and intelligent professor. This class however sucks. Graded by few things and insane attendance policy (2 freebies and if you miss 1 your grade drops half a letter grade). Prof. Edoro has super uninteresting lectures and awful communicator. Only thing I really liked was instagram project at the end of the semester.
Easy class. The professor is intelligent but takes a ridiculous class way too seriously. She has an extremely strict attendance policy (2 lecture drops, each absence beyond drops a letter). Despite her intelligence, the lectures are completely worthless. It's the last week of class, and assignments from the first weeks have not yet been graded.
Course itself is a cool concept but taught horribly. I enjoyed the lectures but didn't learn much. Ainehi is passionate about social media but her passive-aggressiveness and lack of communication really spoil this class. Attendance policy is harsh and material is disorganized. 1 essay, 10 weekly notes, and an Instagram group project. Easy A or A/B.
Extremely strict attendance policy and worthless lectures make this the worst class I've ever taken at UW. It is obvious Ainehi idealizes social media and loves talking about it, but that doesn't make for an interesting class. Pray you don't have any emergencies during the semester as Ainehi won't care - it's half a letter grade per missed lecture.
One of the smartest people I've ever met. She really wants people to think, not just recite what we've memorized.
Prof Edoro is one of the kindest professors at UW-Madison. She truly cares about her students. Lectures are required even though there's no exam. Readings & questions for the first half of semester (graded by completion). Group social media project for the back half of the semester.
She is very passionate but the lectures are not useful at all to the assignments. There is a strict attendance policy through tophat. If you have to make attendance mandatory that means they are probably not useful or engaging. The lectures are more for her (she likes to hear herself talk about what interests her) than the students.
The class overall was pretty easy and interesting if you did the work (small writing assignments, two papers, and a group project), but I would agree that her attendance policy was quite unfair and annoying. Edoro is very smart and passionate about the topic but the class itself was a bit disorganized.
I enjoyed Prof. Edoro's class very much, but her lectures are a bit dry at times. Attendance is tracked via TopHat. The papers are very doable and she provides a good amount of extra credit opportunities to boost your grade. Overall, a very interesting class and it is obvious that she is very passionate about what she teaches.
Professor Edoro is not a good teacher, but she is very knowledgable in African feminists. Her attendance policy is extremely rigid--you cannot miss any days of class, and she emphasized that we must come to class even if we are sick. She is also extremely unorganized and gives very unclear directions. I would not recommend this professor at all.
Prof Edoro is kind but too unorganized. It took a month and a half to grade a 3 page reflection paper! Super frustrating. At the end of April I knew only 30% of my grade and didn't know where I stood in the class. She was unclear with communication and I always felt in the dark (assignments, grades, etc.). Didn't do much work for this class--easy A
Although Professor Edoro is a very wise woman, she is perhaps one of the worst professors I've ever had. She is super unclear with her directions, and blames you when she messes something up. She's very cold and unwelcoming, and not super accessible outside of class. I am sure she's a good person but she's a terrible professor. Would not take again
If you miss any class points immediately are taken off, otherwise a good professor, but I don't like the lack of flexibility.
She was absolutely amazing. The class itself was super easy. I think we had two papers, two group projects, and a couple note taking assignments. She gives you time in class to work on it all though. She really cares about the class and makes it really interesting and innovative. Our final project was a twitter thread if that says anything.
