It's clear Prof. Schmidt knows her stuff about H.C. Andersen and she conveys her enthusiasm to students. That being said, the class themes seemed to repeat and lectures got boring fast; I spent a lot of time on Twitter. If you show up to most lectures and do the reading you should get at least a B.

Very enthusiastic about the subject and pretty clear for being a lit prof! Lays out in simple terms what the meaning of each story is. No essays, no participation grade, just exams. Expect to write a lot on the exams.

I had her for Lit Trans 275 last semester and I have her now for Lit Trans 324. She is the sweetest lady ever and she is very knowledgable. She truely loves what she does and is very willing to help.

I got an A but it wasnt as easy as I would have predicted. Class is not curved but questions on exams can be tough. Exams are graded by TA's so talk to her about them afterward and she will award you extra points. Very nice teacher.
