He was very funny and approachable. Class was very laid back and mostly student led in discussions. To do well you have to do the readings (which can be dense) and participate (attendance required!). But in my opinion it was super easy and near impossible to do poorly if you do that. Grade was mostly a final paper and project.","source_url":"https://www.ratemyprofessors.com/professor/816195","quality_rating":5.0,"difficulty_rating":2.0},{"observed_at":"2026-09-07 16:29:44.386910+00:00","run_id":"20260907T155543-ce3781c4","source_review_id":"UmF0aW5nLTQxNDQyMDE3","source_instructor_id":"rmp:3043956","instructor_name":"Julia Horn","course_label":"ILS400","course_id":"ILS 400","course_uid":"course_3d9d718b2517adabaca3167d","review_date":"2025-06-17 23:37:13 +0000 UTC","comment":"Discussion-based lectures. Julia is always encouraging and incredibly engaged, and so is everyone in class, so the classes are a lot of fun. The weekly readings are heavy, but they are very carefully chosen and cover topics smartly. Two papers with a lot of research freedom. This is one of my favorite seminar classes so far.","source_url":"https://www.ratemyprofessors.com/professor/3043956","quality_rating":5.0,"difficulty_rating":4.0}]
