I'm actually in Geog 511 -- Keith makes everyone in the class feel cared for and respected while teaching us important material in a digestible manner. Asks for feedback often from his students and isn't one of those profs who feel the need to exert power over their students. Better for higher level courses than 100s","source_url":"https://www.ratemyprofessors.com/professor/1346969","quality_rating":5.0,"difficulty_rating":3.0},{"observed_at":"2026-09-07 16:26:31.958015+00:00","run_id":"20260907T155543-ce3781c4","source_review_id":"UmF0aW5nLTMyMTE1MDEz","source_instructor_id":"rmp:1346969","instructor_name":"Keith Woodward","course_label":"GEOG501","course_id":"GEOG 501","course_uid":"course_016d48d565e772e250315724","review_date":"2019-07-23 10:50:52 +0000 UTC","comment":"Professor Woodward is passionate about human geography and is a very accommodating prof; however, his class can get quite political at times and it shows in his selection of course readings and discussions. There is quite a bit of reading for the class, which definitely can be boring. You have plenty of time to do the papers and reading though.","source_url":"https://www.ratemyprofessors.com/professor/1346969","quality_rating":2.0,"difficulty_rating":4.0},{"observed_at":"2026-09-07 16:26:31.958015+00:00","run_id":"20260907T155543-ce3781c4","source_review_id":"UmF0aW5nLTE4NTQyNTQz","source_instructor_id":"rmp:1346969","instructor_name":"Keith Woodward","course_label":"GEOG501","course_id":"GEOG 501","course_uid":"course_016d48d565e772e250315724","review_date":"2011-05-06 13:09:57 +0000 UTC","comment":"Fascinating but hard class that is run like a grad level course. Exploring geography theories and philosophies is difficult so it is extremely important to keep up with the readings. Woodward is very enthusiastic about this subject and he is really, really helpful. Don't be afraid to talk to him during office hours!","source_url":"https://www.ratemyprofessors.com/professor/1346969","quality_rating":4.0,"difficulty_rating":5.0},{"observed_at":"2026-09-07 16:26:31.958015+00:00","run_id":"20260907T155543-ce3781c4","source_review_id":"UmF0aW5nLTE3NzI5NDQ2","source_instructor_id":"rmp:1346969","instructor_name":"Keith Woodward","course_label":"GEOG501","course_id":"GEOG 501","course_uid":"course_016d48d565e772e250315724","review_date":"2010-11-04 20:35:37 +0000 UTC","comment":"The lecture, which is more of a discussion between him and the grad students that are in the class, is absolutely horrible. Its hard follow what he is talking about, particularly because he goes off on tangents. The class has only 3 papers so that is nice, but the reading for the class is usually about 120-160 pages a week. Avoid this class.","source_url":"https://www.ratemyprofessors.com/professor/1346969","quality_rating":2.0,"difficulty_rating":4.0},{"observed_at":"2026-09-07 16:09:38.013507+00:00","run_id":"20260907T155543-ce3781c4","source_review_id":"UmF0aW5nLTE2MzcwNDI2","source_instructor_id":"rmp:315711","instructor_name":"Robert Kaiser","course_label":"GEOG501","course_id":"GEOG 501","course_uid":"course_016d48d565e772e250315724","review_date":"2009-11-15 03:34:58 +0000 UTC","comment":"I have to agree with the student who said that he thinks he's God. He is a very smart guy and knows his material very well. However, he is very rude and unfriendly. If he does not like you, he will treat you very badly.
