An introduction to the physical and chemical properties of marine habitats, how these properties influence the distribution of species and ecosystems, how interactions between species and their environment influence the organisms living in these habitats, and how these interactions relate to the cycling of energy, nutrients, and organic matter through food webs and ecosystems. Cover several different marine ecosystem types and explore adaptations that organisms have developed for living in these environments. Explore current threats facing marine species and habitats along with conservation strategies and successes.
