Course Description

The neutron transport equation and its application to the analysis of nuclear reactors. Numerical solution methods, including the multi-group model, one-group equations, energy-averaged constants, discrete ordinates, and Monte Carlo methods. Perturbation theory and variational techniques for practical problems. Knowledge of Nuclear Reactor Theory [such asN E 405] required.
