Summary

What you’ll be able to do

  • Recognize biochemical systems and pathways relevant to the study of host-pathogen interactions, disease, and microbes and microbial communities.

  • Develop mathematical models of biochemical systems by integrating basic mathematical and engineering concepts with principals from biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology, and immunology.

  • Translate molecular pathways relevant to immunity and disease into computational models and simulations.

  • Gain a working knowledge of resources and databases available for systems biology modeling and simulation.

  • Use programming tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python) to implement and test a systems biology model.
