STRENGTHENING LATINXS develops basic psychotherapeutic helping skills in Spanish via role-plays, integrating Latinx psychological theories into practical clinical interventions.

Discuss characteristics and behaviors that influence helping processes with Latinxs, including individual, cultural, social, political and historical factors
Learn basic attentional and interviewing skills in Spanish such as asking questions, paraphrasing, reflecting content and feeling, summarizing, and clarifying
Understand how to adapt interviewing abilities to individual differences and incorporate Latinx-centered values and practices
Learn how to gather clinical information and complete an initial diagnostic interview in Spanish
Understand how to effectively use supervision and consultation in Spanish
