Explores and interrogates the historical and contemporary connections and between race, gender, and technology. Attention will be paid to the ways media and technology construct - and are constructed by - social, economic, political, and cultural formations of race and gender. Explores an array of social issues and challenges as well as a variety of media, technology, information and communication forms, practices, and systems. Connects the topics of critical race, feminist, and queer studies with the study of technology, with an emphasis on studies of digital technologies and cultures.
